Steve's BIO
Steve spent his youth learning the secrets of successfully running national supermarket chains from his father, who managed multiple national supermarkets across South-Eastern Australia. Steve’s first full-time placement was in liquor distribution at the age of 18, he then moved to bars and pubs, securing a position as the Maître ‘D of a successful restaurant at age 19. Within 12 months he was promoted to look after the restaurant and an additional 300 seat bistro within the large hotel in Hobart.
Having spent the greater part of his life learning and developing a passion for marketing and inventory control, at 21 he was further promoted to Stock Controller and POS manager for the Hibberd & Prescott group, controlling 3 large hotels in the greater Hobart area. With a desire to master the sales industry he was presented with an opportunity to become a Trade Broker with Bartercard Australia. Bartercard was an exceptional experience, sourcing goods and services and negotiating sizeable deals across a multitude of different business sectors saw him generate over 3 million dollars within the first twelve months, becoming one of the top Bartercard Brokers across Australia. Noting his success and previous hospitality experience, Steve’s services were secured by a large international Hospitality software development company, H&L. Assigned the regional manager for Tasmania, he doubled the business in just three short years. Following his success in Tasmania he was transferred to Vancouver, Canada, to establish H&L in Western Canada. As regional manager of British Columbia the challenges and life-long experiences of setting up a company and capturing market share within a foreign territory have been fundamental in the establishment and successful growth of the Scala Institute. Today, Scala is recognised as a leading business and career development company in Tasmania. Supporting thousands of individuals to grow in their careers and watching the impact they make in their organisations is truly inspiring. |
